The purpose of the
Rails to Trails Conservancy
is to enrich America's communities and countryside by
creating a nationwide network of public trails from former
rail lines and connecting corridors. It
is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with more than
100,000 members and supporters.

Idaho State Parks and Recreation
manages 30 Idaho state parks, and a variety of programs
designed to provide recreation facilities for the people
of Idaho and those who travel to the state. This site gives
detailed information on tent and RV camping, hiking, biking,
boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and other
Idaho recreational activities. The major portion of the
Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes,
between Harrison and Mullan, is administered by this agency. |

The
Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe
has sovereign authority on a reservation covering 345,000
acres of mountains, lakes, timber and farmland, spanning the
western edge of the northern Rocky Mountains and the
abundant Palouse country. The southern portion of the
Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes,
between Plummer and Harrison, is administered by the Tribe.

The mission of the
North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation
is to oversee the maintenance and continued improvement of
the existing Trail that extends 23 miles from the
Idaho/Washington state line to Blue Creek Bay, 6 miles east
of Coeur d'Alene.
The Foundation also promotes, recommends, and assists
with the standardization of Trail designs and construction in
Kootenai County.

The
Friends of the Centennial Trail is a
non-profit corporation that assists and encourages the
development and maintenance of the Centennial Trail as
well as adjacent park areas and connecting trails. The 37 mile
paved Trail runs along the Spokane River from Nine Mile Falls
to the Idaho State line, where it connects to the North Idaho
Centennial Trail.

The Gondola Village at the
Silver Mountain All Season Resort is located
a quarter mile off Interstate 90 at Kellogg, Exit 49.
The ski area accessed by the 3-mile gondola
covers 1600 acres of terrain ranging from beginner to
advanced expert, and is famous for champagne powder and
short lift lines. Last summer, the Resort designed and
built several rolling-contour single-track bike trails,
allowing riders with a wide range of skill levels to
descend over 4000 feet from Kellogg Peak (6300') to
Kellogg (2220')! In May 2008, an indoor water park was added,
and golf course is also in the works for this
all season resort.

where you can access the official sites of some of the
Northwest’s best trails, find detailed maps, satellite
images, comprehensive trail statistics, and links to
other outdoor recreation opportunities.

Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes
are particularly noteworthy.

rentals and service. Located close to the marina, city park,
campground and the
Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes,
the owners operate a shuttle service during the summer.

Harrison Idaho Water Adventures (aka, HI Water Adventures) in Harrison,
Idaho, to rent kayaks or power boats to explore Lake Coeur d'Alene.
They can also personalize your adventure in concert with Pedal Pushers Bike
Shop so you may split your day between kayaking various lakes and
biking the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes.

Silver Bike Tours operates out of Spokane to facilitate bicycle
adventures on the Trail of the Coeur
d'Alenes, the Route of the
Hiawatha, and the Centennial
Trail that joins Washington with northern Idaho.
Services include transportation, bicycle rentals as needed, lodging & dining arrangements,
guides or self-guided support, tailored special interest tours, repair service, and more.

North Idaho Bed and Breakfast Association
consists of 21 bed and breakfasts. Each is unique in design and amenities and
offers the traveler a rewarding experience. The Association provides
contact and other information about each member Bed and Breakfast.
