The
Dylan Dean Generosity Bike Ride and Community
Picnic will be on
Saturday, September 6, 2008,
at Gene Day Park in Osburn.
Riders will travel west along the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes as far as
they wish and return to enjoy the picnic at the park. Some may choose to
ride ~45 miles to Harrison on Lake Coeur d'Alene, while others will turn
around at Cataldo (~20 miles) or Kellogg (~7 miles).
Dylan was an 11 year old boy who died of bone cancer in 2003. His
amazing kindness, courage and concern for others during his 4 year battle
inspired the original Dylan Dean GRRRR Day (2003-2005). GRRRR stood for
Generosity Run and Ride, or Run or Ride. Proceeds from these
multi-event benefits were donated to the Kootenai
Medical Center Foundation to benefit the North Idaho
Cancer Center's patient support programs.
This year, the funds raised by this reinstituted benefit will be donated
to the Shoshone County Cancer Support Corporation.
You may download the Schedule of Events,
and a Registration, Release &
Indemnification form as either a
MS Word

document.

Dylan Dean, the eleven year old boy who became the inspiration
of this annual event, underwent several surgeries and medical
treatments over the years in his battle against bone cancer.
Throughout his ordeal, he displayed courage, faith and a
boyish love of life. He lost his battle with cancer in
September 2003. In his honor, dedicated volunteers are again proud to
sponsor this year's Dylan Dean Generosity
Bike Ride and Community Picnic.

The
Tour de Coeur 2008 will be on
Sunday, September 7, 2008,
on the Centennial Bicycle Trail in Coeur d'Alene.
This fifth annual American Cancer Society benefit was planned with
families in mind. The day consists of bicycle rides for every member
of the family, from a short one mile ride to 33 miles on the
Centennial
Trail along the scenic beauty of Lake Coeur d’Alene. For those
family members who are looking for more of a challenge, the ride
leaves the Centennial Trail and heads up on the surrounding hills.
This event is completely run by volunteers who are dedicated to the
fight against cancer. All proceeds from
Tour de Coeur are donated to
the American Cancer Society to fund research and advocacy efforts
as well as to provide programs and services for cancer patients and
